Countdown to Christmas. Day 6

Precious Heavenly Father,

 The promised Messiah was to be despised and rejected, acquainted with grief, pierced for our transgressions and crushed for our sins. And He was. 

If in any way we are failing today to marvel at so great a salvation, have mercy! 

 Create clean and joyous hearts in us as we prepare to celebrate the season of remembrance of our Savior's birth-- and forbid that we reduce this most holy event to a self-indulgent, Christless Christmas. 

Amen and amen.
